Not medical advice
Everything on Nerdz Health is general information for people who spend long hours at a screen. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a diagnosis or treatment from a doctor, physiotherapist or other qualified health professional. Do not ignore professional advice, or delay getting it, because of something you read here.
Who writes this
Nerdz Health is written by Nidhi Talati, who is not a doctor. Articles are based on lived experience and on published research and public health guidance. They are not reviewed by a medical professional before publishing. Where we cite research, we link to it so you can check it yourself. Read our editorial policy for how we research and correct articles.
When to see a doctor
Talk to a doctor or qualified professional if you have pain that is severe, getting worse or not improving, numbness or tingling, changes in your vision, or any symptom that worries you. In an emergency, call your local emergency number straight away.
Exercise, stretches and diet changes
Check with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine, stretch or diet if you have a medical condition or an injury, are pregnant, take regular medication, or have not been active for a while. Stop any movement that causes pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. The same applies to supplements: talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking them, especially alongside medication.
Accuracy and updates
We try to keep every article accurate and up to date, but health research changes and some older articles may not reflect the latest guidance. Each article shows when it was published. If you spot something wrong or out of date, please tell us through our contact page and we will review it.
Links to other websites
Articles may link to research papers, public health bodies and other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.
Affiliate links and advertising
Some pages may include advertising or affiliate links, for example to desk chairs, monitor arms or other equipment. If you buy through an affiliate link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we write, and any page with affiliate links will say so.
Your responsibility
You use the information on this site at your own risk. BrainFeed Solutions, Nerdz Health and its author are not liable for any loss, injury or damage that results from acting, or not acting, on information published here.
